    I know i'm too late now but the issue with Chevy's mod is because he uses 10 random walls for each day & night weather condition but the "Christmas" condition folder still has only 5, so the quick fix is to add this (the line in red) in main.js:
    Code:
    case "christmas" :
        current_condition = special_condition;
        if (Wallpaper_options !=  "none") {
            Wallpaper_options_old = Wallpaper_options;
            if (Wallpaper_options == "timedwalls") { TimedWallStop(); }
            Wallpaper_options = "weatherwalls";
            NUMBER_OF_WALLS = 5;
        }
        document.getElementById("city").innerHTML = "Merry Christmas";
        document.getElementById("Day0desc").innerHTML = "From Ian & David";
    break;

    Thanks so much Ian!!! Makes total sense now..

    Hey bro.. Would you be willing to send me your code for being able to 'clik' on a screen and get lat long coordinates from the phone? I believe you used Cycript or something to do it upon command. I'd like to do some experimenting with that code.

    Thanks, sir! Merry Christmas!

    @Ian thank you, and Merry Christmas!
    Where should we add it in main?

    This is a cycript script code
    Code:
    getWeather = function () {
      return [[WeatherPreferences sharedPreferences] localWeatherCity];
    };
    then in javascript code you would need this
    Code:
    var WC = getWeather();
    var LatLng = WC.locationID; //gives "latitude, longitude"
    var latitude = LatLng.split(',')[0]; // splits into latitude only
    var longitude = LatLng.split(',')[1]; //splits into longitude only
    If you want city, GPS coordinates, current weather conditions, 10 day forecast and 24 hour forecast, all in one, use
    Code:
    var allData = WC.detailedDescription; //gets all data in one long text, needs be be converted into a String, then split to get individual items
    Nothing is impossible only miracles take a bit longer!

    Ras,
    Does that Cycript call - call directly to GPS antenna in Standard Mode? Or does it in any way rely on weather.framework which as we know needs interaction from the user to update?

    I want to write a touch function that gives me immediate access to the GPS antenna that will return coordinates to a variable.

    GPS is read from weather framework.
    You will NOT be able to use GPS location framework with cycript/javascript touch function!
    And here is why.
    Since iOS 8 any request to the location service needs to have a permission and that permission can be build into apps, but not into cycript.
    June has a cycript code for the location service in his blog, which works .... but only once! With that I mean that you have to give the location service "permission" in Settings->Privacy->Location. Then you get the GPS coordinates, with upto 14 decimals each. After that you need to give permission again in Settings->Privacy->Location.
    I know as tried that a year ago.
    Read http://nshipster.com/core-location-in-ios-8/ and you will see that there is no way for cycript and javascript to fullfill the new requirements.
    Nothing is impossible only miracles take a bit longer!

    Okay. That's what I thought. Weather.framework, as we all know, is not auto-updating without human intervention.

    Thanks for the detailed explanation, Ras.

    I thought Ian had figured out a way to tap into the actual GPS antenna to update upon request with a tap. But if his way is based on weather.framework also - then that doesn't interest me.

    But thx!

    What I have is my "Lat n Long" app, it has icon on home screen, when you hit my "Get Location" button it immediately updates the "MyLocation.txt" file with your current coordinates, something similar to the old "My Location" tweak except it's "on demand".
    I wrote it with xCode so all permissions are present & it works great.

    But where does it get the coordinates from, Ian? The GPS antenna directly? And ford your app use "Significant Change or Standard" for accessing the GPS antenna? Would you be willing to share the app, sir?

    You can use the "Update from current location" feature of WW2.

    Not from the Springboard, bro.

    And remember Fixed Mode still only captures coordinates at Widest accuracy and distance settings. I reported that a long time ago. Not fixed yet.

    I want to be able to trigger a pinpoint accurate update from a trigger on the SB.

    I think you misunderstand, "Significant Change" is used for constantly monitoring your position, my app does not constantly monitor your position, it just grabs your current location at the moment you hit the "get My Location" button. When you exit the app it is no longer using location services, it is "On Demand" location (unlike WW2).
    It is set to the best accuracy, but if I am inside my house the accuracy is about 160 meters, if I move to the window It's about 5 meters accuracy.

    Here is a small video, I am inside my house standing at the window. The second part of the video is a small thing I was thinking of adding to it, it would show you a map with your location, but not finished it yet.

    I cannot share my app though, I tried a few months back to put it on Cydia via MMI repo but it didn't work, it works fine here so I think I made mistake in packaging it up for Cydia as I really don't know what I'm doing regarding that.

    Maybe WW2 just grabs the coordinates within your set distance filter/desired accuracy so might not be so accurate, I really don't know, but it wouldn't be a big job for the dev to set up the WW2 button to get the coordinates using the best possible accuracy.

    OK, see it this way.
    Your GPS antenna is the Core Location framework, that's what is linked to the GPS chip and can get/monitor your location.
    Weather framework is the stuff that makes the Weather app work. The Weather app sends request to the Core Location when it needs an update of your location and this location is saved in the weather framework. That's what we can read with cycript, we can not reliably access Core Location with cycript due to the permission changes introduced in iOS 8 (see the link in my previous post).
    This is not much of a problem for any app that requires GPS location as the new security system/permission layout can be build into any app, but not be used by cycript, not to my ability anyway. Believe me I have tried!
    You do not need any permission to read gps data saved in weather framework or any other app.

    It is however possible to start the Weather app/weather framework to update at certain intervals, with cycript script, and then read the saved values as that is exactly what I am doing with MYO and WeatherUnderground, as I only need the GPS data from the weather framework and those as recent as possible, even with a touch function on the LS to update the weather framework and GPS coordinates, but ONLY possible with cycript. Will NOT work with iWidgets as they do not support cycript.

    Hi Ras,

    I'm not sure if this will be of any help as I'm sure you tried already, but anyway...
    This is what I use in Objective-C to get the required authorisation to access the gps: (you won't need the NSLog line as I just use this to see the authorizationStatus in iPhone simulator).

    Objective-C:
    Code:
    CLAuthorizationStatus authorizationStatus= [CLLocationManager authorizationStatus];
    NSLog(@"authStatus = %d",authorizationStatus);

    if([locationManager respondsToSelector:@selector(requestWhenInUseAuthorization)]) {
        [locationManager requestWhenInUseAuthorization];
    }
    [locationManager startUpdatingLocation];

    Then in Info.plist you must have these 2 strings (description for alert message):

    NSLocationAlwaysUsageDescription (string) Required to update your location in the background.
    NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription (string) Required to obtain your location.
