Hey Ian did you post a fix for wallpaper disappearing on iWidgets or it's something that has to fix with an iWidget update ?. If i activate the Core iWidget you modified then respring the wallpaper in the widget goes away.

Was looking to see if there was a fix posted but couldn't find any .

Sorry M8, I don't look into this, are you using daylight walls? I really only did this widget with daylight walls, never looked at anything else.

It happens to all iWidgets with Wallpapers from my testing - even UniAW7 iWidget running weather walls. But I think it's a bug in iWidgets or something in 9. Nothing wrong with Ian's code.

When i choose Day/Night Walls or WeatherWall the wallpaper disappears and with TimeWalls seems the widget layer disappears :-

Before respring:- Day/Night Walls or Weather Walls

After respring:- Day/Night Walls or Weather Walls

    Before respring:-TimeWalls

    After respring:- TimeWalls

I Use UniAW7.1 iWidget with no walls & sometimes (not always) after re-spring the whole widget disappears. I think all will be ok after iWidgets is updated, but I don't hear anything from Eldwin yet.

I will check the Widget on my Mac today.

Well all seems good on the Mac but then the Mac doesn't use the plist files so here is something you could try.

    1. Duplicate the widget & re-name it to "Test"
    2. In the Test folder delete the "Options.plist" file
    3. Open the "Config.js" file, you right under the text "// THE CODE BELOW IS ONLY USED....blah blah" you will see this: "/*" delete it.
    4. Still in the "Config.js" file right at the end you will see this: "*/" delete it.

Now the iWidget will have no options so you have to choose your options in the Config.js file before loading the iWidget.

Not sure if this will make any difference, just testing. Nothing more I can do here as all works fine on the Mac and it all worked perfect in 8.4.

Yeah.. Nothing wrong with your code, bro. An Eldwin fix is what's needed. Something in 9 is making a respring screw with the html. Probably an easy fix for a dev.

Has anybody hit up Eldwin on Twitter or text or email yet?

Yeah still the same after doing your changes Ian, guess we'll have to wait on the Developer of iWidget. Thanks

So, when you say 'on the Mac', you can run these files on your Mac?
Can you give me more information on how to do this, or point me to a place that will show me?
    thank you

    Get "Taco HTML Edit".

Then editing your widgets will be a breeze, when using it, it looks like this (download this old video I made a year or 2 ago):

I assume to make this work, I 'edit' the HTML file, then click 'preview' or live preview. I've selected my browser in prefs, but the preview doesn't show up.

You must hit LIVE PREVIEW.. And I think.. If you're using UniAW7.1 - exactly as downloaded from Ian's page 1 of this thread.. Ian's coded it to open right up without you adding any widgetweather.xml files to the widget folder for it to find. Of course our widgets need widgetweather.xml file to actually work. You may need to also set in config.js the one setting to EDIT MODE for a larger preview. Not sure - haven't done it in a while.. Let me check real quick.. but you need to clik on LIVE PREVIEW - then when it asks you WHICH html file to use to display.. Choose LockBackground.html.

The most amazing part about Live Preview - is that you do any little edit to the code- your changes immediately appear.. Best tool out there for the modder working on a MAC.
