I hear ya, Ferlop - and we've always had an understanding, bro.

But let me 'skool ya' a bit or 'us' artists. I've lived amongst and worked with artists through my career for 35 years. And I assure you that their motives are ALWAYS about recognition and praise.. 100% of the time. There are sub themes.. in this order
    1) Be praised and accepted
    2) make some statement about life, politics, religion, etc
    3) because they 'can' - create -- is motive enough

But there is no artist alive that could 'care less' what people think. Or cares zero about recognition (showing it off).

Where I think this can get frustrating for the 'non-artist' 'non-coder' - is that a 'picture' of it on a thread doesn't ever give us the ability to 'full enjoy' the art. To use our museum example - we spend 'hours there' - lingering - enjoying the art. Yes, we do NOT take it home with us - but we've fully drunk in the pleasure of the art while there. With a widget or phone setup - it's impossible to 'fully enjoy it' until it's ON our own phone.

So posting a screenie with no intention to share- only serves to create a frustration. Similar to, if you'll pardon the comparison, to a woman only ever teasing a man she has no intention to ever 'be with'.

I do agree with this 'angle' on this topic - but only to a point. To see cool stuff IS inspiring and can make you want to try on our own. BUT - the problem is - that the vast majority of us can NOT nor will EVER have the talent to do the work in PhotoShop that's really necessary to make the amazing stuff. Much less have the $ to even purchase PhotoShop. So again - it's ONLY a frustration producer - because you can't INSPIRE someone to 'beCOME' and artist. They're either born with it or not. Artistic ability can't be practiced into. There has to be something you're born with.

Sure bro, I can accept that,......sounds like it could be a fun discussion, but we're stretching a bit now.....theming on an iphone is rather miniscule compared to creating real art, especially since the latter doesn't involve any 'computer generated' graphics!

but yes, understand exactly what you're saying,...

To a degree yes. But it's important you and Jazzy and Robertus and others understand and can sympathize with some of the pain that others experience knowing they can't even begin to make the art they see and would ONLY be able to enjoy it if it's shared. I think you 'do' get it, bro. And you share SO much of what you do.. So I have zero issue with you , my man! Thanks for the discussion!

I still remember the FAT LETTER ICON mod you did back in iOS5.. I still love that one and occasionally resurrect it each new iOS.

Dude, screw these people man. You have don't plenty for this community. You don't have to share shite. You want to show what you have been working on that makes you feel proud, please do.

I never got this entitled attitude that some people have where just because someone shows their screen that this means they should share it. That's a selfish way of thinking about it.

No I know. I just have never understood that entitled attitude and the way others have tried to argue that if you show something and donít share then you are being selfish and that you shouldnít show anything you wonít share.

Itís madness. I canít stand those people. I canít create crap but yet you donít hear me crying about how I canít use something that someone showed a screenshot that one time. Children man, they are children.

On the contrary, I think you're a child for calling us out in such an insulting way. My only contention was that posting all of these pictures showing off designs that no one else can use is exactly that . . . showing off. Never once did I say or imply we were entitled to them, champ.

I made the perfect case. You're just being closed minded not to see it. You've built your whole case on "entitlement" - which is a total straw man argument. Padg's and my point was only getting after "the motive" behind why modders would share screenies for things they never intend to share. That's the really weird part (for me).

No one in this conversation so far ever tried to bolster the notion that a person is required to share something or that we're entitled to it. In fact I said just the opposite in my very first post.

    Please read more carefully.

Please take your discussion to a different thread. Through the work shared or not by Jazz, Akaya, Robertus, Ferlop and many more, this thread has come back to life. Please don't ruin that for all of us who don't care if it's shared or not but appreciates the beauty.

@NewD, Padgoi.....I'm tempted to offer some replies to your posts but even if we go back and forth again, I'm afraid you still won't get any satisfaction.
    ---------------------------------------------------

@Padgoi, I'm still planning on sending you that mod you asked about in the UniAW thread, with gears/pendulum, just haven't re-visited it lately since moving to regular SBHTML (that one is for GB+)......just as soon as I find the right time to give it another look,
