that looks like an image problem. make sure the image is named overlay.png, and make sure it's in the same folder as Widget.html (so place the png and the HTML in the bcs folder, no subfolders)

Wow a grown discussion over a disagreement .. with you know who gone this is actually possible now. I agree with you Erik I try to stay as close to the real WP7 as possible. I look forward to your UI release sometime in the future. Although, I do not use the new overlay I still think it looks pretty sick so thanks BCS for bringing us that tweak and the rest of you guys showing it off.

Theres nothing wrong, its just that the overlay will need to be activated again when switching dreamboard themes. So if you had the overlay running in default mode first then switch to OS7 you will have to perform a respring to activate the overlay.dylib within OS7.

I cannot fix this to switch on automatically with Dreamboard themes because of how Dreamboard initializes themes upon launch.

I personally use Sbsettings because it allows me to "toggle" the overlay.dylib and gives me a respring button. There are other tweaks around that perform a respring, so if you dont have Sbsettings you can try one of those tweaks instead

I knocked this together, your overlays will fade in and out instead of being static just change the overlay.png to what ever you like
credit to BcsCustom for you know what and runt for the image

The only thing I said was that it didn't fit the bill for WP7 and even though it does provide useful widgets such as the ones you listed, I still don't feel it fits the WP7 bill. Please understand that I'm not trying to discredit your work. You are great at coding and the .dylib does provide useful customization options, but in my opinion, it isn't like WP7 (which is totally fine!). I even said in my post that customization is the point of all themes so you don't need to get on the defensive (I'm only stating my opinion on the feel of WP7).

The thing is that with WP7 you can change the tile color and the theme color (light/dark). That doesn't sound like much, but when I had a WP7 it was actually very refreshing. I could change my tiles to match something I was wearing in a better way and changing it from light to dark was also neat because it affected a lot of applications as well. WP7 whole design "style" (metro) is based around minimalism and simplicity. I didn't need to worry about changing one icon, or changing my wallpaper, or making sure my weather widget worked. I could change enough that it was new, yet I was able to do so in seconds. By keeping it like that I felt it was a very refreshing change of pace and one that I personally like. Putting overlays on top of those icons with clouds moving across said tiles (let me preface this: IMO) doesn't capture the WP7 minimalistic style and clutters the theme. This is not to say that my tastes are the same as everyone's, I am not saying that at all. Everyone has different tastes and that is why I love themes, it allows you to make a theme your own. So please, understand that I enjoy your mods and I feel I speak for everyone when I say that many here do. Just because I may not find a use for it doesn't mean what you created was bad (I am but one of many).

Please don't tell me its not possible. I believe it very well is. Like I said, I don't know the amount of work it would take, but to say its not possible is jumping to a conclusion I just don't see. You may be right, but I feel that what I suggested is possible. I will wait and see what End says/does in the future and be ready to stand corrected if need be
Sorry folks didn't mean to cause a debate! Just wanted to put my 2 cents out there because I have not updated my OS7 theme in quite sometime which is strange Everything you both say makes sense, but the big picture is maybe we should wait for the 3.0 release from End before we go scratching our heads on what to do next.

Muzik, Picasa, and all those other third party apps imitate the "feel" of WP7 but in the end they all fall short with functionality which is why I use my default apps for everything.
Don't forget to hit the thanks button if you liked what I said or did

Its not a problem and all I was referring to "Apps" with the Hubs "feel" in my post and Erik was referring to actual Hubs as represented on a real WP7 with his post.
Both our points are valid, if its to be a app then that app will have to be rewritten, if its a Hub like with the Games Hub in WP7 then there might be alternative ways to achieve that Feel. We got our signals crossed thats all All is good and thanks for bringing up the topic

Your right in stating we should wait for End to come out with Version 3. He may just surprise us all

now just add a progressbar for upgrading apps and we don't have any reason to switch back to default when upgrading or deleting one of them

PS: nice new animations! and is the tilting tile and the whole WP7ish launch-animation included in the next release?
