I managed to navigate within ifile to some app files and switch a couple of square icons that came with my current theme for some round ones that came from another theme.
Can someone tell me why the square is still surrounding the round icon as seen below?

Afterhours has autoicons. If it is a AppStore app you will get those squares. The original apps ie settings phone should not get them. I am pretty sure the default apps are made custom with the mask on them.

To theme app store icons for an iPhone 4 you have to use auto skin. Because summerboard mode doesn't really work for iPhone 4 (theming icons in the icon folder is a summerboard method ) you have to skin everything through the bubble it's self. When it comes to appstore icons what ever icon.png is in the folder will have the autoskin happen.

There is no way around this other than resizing your hi res icons down to a low res icon and putting it in the icons folder. Personally this will look lime caca
