Thread: [RELEASE] LOPEARD BETA 2a

  1. #241
Okay, so I quit the stupid Leopard UI thread. It is obviously not possible to have a civil conversation with a raging lunatic such TDR. So let me ask here whether there are any plans to make this theme in a landscape mode. As you may have read in the other thread, I have put forth my reasons of why portrait themes are more appealing and I really would like to see someone with the required javascript/html/css skills to deliver a theme that not just mimics Mac OS, but embraces the idiosyncrasies of a handheld device and improves its usability.

Are you able to successfully delete the placeholders? I had that issue with KATS since "deleting" the placeholders did not permanently delete them and instead they would reappear after a respring. This was because they were not made in Springboard (as a webclip) but an SSH'ed webclip.

after deleting the placeholders they will reappear after the last icon. but once all are changed they can be deleted in the webclips folder.
This is for the 1st setup only. after the setup they are deleted anyways.

I called the webclips "replace1.webclip" "2", "3", "4"...etc. so you can easily find them in the folder.

It doesn't actually change anything. It just shows the positioning of the apps. (easier to setup your own apps)

(oh yeah smaller icons, so now you can fit 40 apps in this theme
    10 in finder
    10 in games
    10 in mac HD
    10 in stacks.

...maybe someday springback will be updated to go to all 11 pages instead of the first 9 only.
I still have so many ideas.. but not enough space....

The theme I am making is just for the looks.. you're right.

I could make a portrait version of this theme... but actually I don't have the time to spend with another leopard theme. Happy that this one is almost done

I started this theme on 1.1.4 then I stopped (due to app changes and missing apps) when 2.0 was released and removed my jailbreak..
when the 3.0 was released I just had to give it another try...

I would like a nice Portrait theme too.
maybe I will create one when Lopeard is done....

(I still have my 2g for testing purposes)

If I ever make a portrait theme I will surely not make another OS copy...

Maybe something really new... (but what??)

We should create the OPEN SOURCE THEME

a few top themers develop and everybody can contribute to the theme... completely open source (developers TOY)

That's the kind of theme I would work on....

I might make a thread about this

I'd be up for that. Maybe another official MMi theme (as I have already seen one done).

Let's talk about that in some other thread...

    no MMI theme though please...

just a theme that looks good and works perfect...
... it doesn't even have to be too absract. but like Armadillo said... BETTER than the original iPhone.

let'S start using our skills to make the phone more comfortable... not just look better.

Most themes that look really good are just no fun to use.
    ..especially when in landscape.

Well, this is kinda like the LockInfo themes concept, which I really like. I had high hopes with TDR's supposedly JS/CSS/HTML theme, but the guy cannot be talked to. So with such a concept, it would relatively easy to accommodate not only different configurations, but also different skins.

I just tested iSetup for 3a. Completely uninstalled the Theme, and the I installed the .deb.

It only took 2 minutes including the respring time.
