Thread: Old School Dialer Graphics

  1. #101
Did you copy the MobilePhonePackedImages.artwork file and the BarDialer_Sel.png files into the MobilePhone.app folder? Having both of those in there, turning the phone off and back on, and restarting the Springboard should do the trick. Anyone else have any ideas?

I think it has to be the missing/corrupted .artwork file, since the buttons are in fact determined by the pngs in that file. The symptoms he describes indicate that the DefaultDialer.png and the BarDialer_Sel.png behave as they should, but the MobilePhonePackedImages-29.png to MobilePhonePackedImages-31.png in the .artwork file are misbehaving.

i like the retro dialier alot, but an idea, the top bar where the numbers appear when pressed, you should make it alittle taller that way you can see hte persons name when you enter the number

  11. #109
how come i don't see it in my installer are there different versions of installer?

  12. #110
    Few things:

    1) I want to second the idea of making the number are a bit bigger. The names are cut off in a way that you can't make them out.

    2) I too can not find the Retro dialer on Installer.app .. ?? Is this part of different 3rd party source list? I'm using Installer.app v2.63 on 1.0.2

    bump. another n00b here.
    1) i don't see this in my Installer either
    2) how do I get this on my phone? any help by way of a mini tutorial would be appreciated.

found the below directions here http://www.everythingiphone.com/foru...e-6103-67.html

You need Wi-Fi to do this.

Instructions I used to install SSH and Cyberduck:

Use the Installer to install SSH
Find out your iPhone's IP address: Settings -> Wi-Fi, then click the blue arrow to the right of your checked network. The IP address will be listed on the next screen. Mine is 10.0.1.4 and my wife's is 10.0.1.5 .
Go to MacUpdate.com and download the latest version of CyberDuck. Install as directed and launch.
Click "Open Connection," the top right button in the window.
In the "Protocol" drop-down select "SFTP." Leave the port field as 22.
In the "Server" field enter your iPhone's IP address.
In the "Username" field enter "root" and "dottie" in the password field (unless you changed the password of course).

Now you'll access to folders on your iphone.

    Download Retro Phone from here:

    http://modmyi.com/forums/downlo...do=file&id=877

Just add the files into: /Applications/MobilePhone.app/ folder

    Default Getting this through Installer...
Sorry I've been away and haven't replied to the questions... To get access to this through installer you need to have HighTymes' source installed on your phone for Installer.

here is the how-to From HighTymes' signature:

    Right Click and Save
Place the above .plist in var/root/Library/Installer

Unfortunatelly this doesn't seem to work with 1.1.1.

I installed all necessary files (like I did in 1.0.2) but still the normal iPhone Dialer. ;-(

To counterbalance this, it's working BEAUTIFULLY on my modded 1.1.1.

    Still loving this mod!

    Sorry, my bad!

I made a mistake copying these files in terminal with scp.

I fixed the sftp issue on my 1.1.1 phone and copied again with SFTP/Transmit.

    Now everything works as expected.

As previously mentioned, with the modified "frame" around the numbers, I can no longer see the name that pops up when I dial a phone number that is already in my address book. I'm hoping Mr_Sparkle is able to release a modified image to fix this.

Once again you go above and beyond, i love how the buttons can be pressed in v2, great job man.

    Hi!

Since I installed it on 1.1.1, the fonts are like white and over the background; I remember using it on 1.0.2 and seeing it like dirty, like the image in which appears Mr.Sparkle in the screen. Am I doing something wrong?
