Default Kids Love iPad More Than Other Popular Brands

We’ve previously reported that interest in Apple products are growing amongst teenagers, but it seems like the demand for Apple products are just increasing in general. It has been officially reported that kids also love Apple devices, even more than their famous Oreo cookies (along with M&Ms, Disney, and more)! In a recent study titled ‘2014 Young Love’ by firm Smarty Pants, 255 other brands have lost out to Apple’s iPad in the number 1 brand for 6-12 aged children. A total of 256 brands were looked at in the three-month study and 6,661 children and their parents participated in it. A composite scale of 0-1000 was used to score brand popularity, awareness and love.

Wynne Tyree, Smarty Pants president stated:

iPad’s number one status among kids represents the culmination of the ‘tablet takeover’ – a movement from shared screens and TV network dominance to curated content on personal devices. Kids increasingly turn to iPad for games, TV shows, videos, books, homework help and communicating with friends and family.
There has been a lot of controversy regarding the topic of giving iPads to children and letting them play with it. Even previous Apple CEO, Steve Jobs was against unlimited iPad access for children. But this does not mean children in today’s day and age don’t love the iPad and prefer to use it over everything else. The results prove just that. Take a look at the results below:

Kids on the whole love what advertisers tell them to and/or what their parents can afford.

Very true. My 3 yr old niece has an iPad mini. My sister babysat for a friend of ours. When that girl is here, which I believe she is 6 yrs old, she prefers to play with the iPad mini rather than her Android tablet the mom bought her. I don't recall which brand of tablet it was though.
