On Thursday, Facebook finally made its standalone Messenger application available on the iPad, meaning that it's no longer an iPhone and iPod touch-only application.

The application on the iPad looks and feels like the iPhone and iPod touch version of the application, only with the larger canvas space we would expect from a iPad-style application. It supports all of the features of the iPhone and iPod touch version, including stickers, voice, messaging, and more.

The latest version (7.0) of Facebook Messenger is a universal application in the iOS App Store and can be downloaded for free from this App Store link.

Facebook also released a minor update for its all-in-one Facebook application for iOS, bringing it up to version 12.0 with some speed and reliability improvements. The latest version of Facebook can be downloaded for free from this App Store link.
