Thread: Possible new bug in iPad 2 iOS 4.3.3 jailbreak? (Maps)

  1. #1
I used the Jailbreakme.com 3.0 on my iPad 2 the day it was released. Yesterday I applied comex's kernel fix from Cydia as well.

But I still can't get Maps working correctly. I enter the app, go somewhere on the map and choose to "Drop pin". Instant quit to springboard. Sometimes I just about get to place the pin, before it quits to springboard.

I figured it could be one of my installed apps/tweaks, so I tried starting the iPad in Safe Mode. No difference. Maps crashes to the springboard every time I try to "Drop Pin".

Anyone else experiencing this? This is by no means any criticism of comex's fine work, just a friendly and possible bug report :-)

Update: It seems that turning off location services for the Maps app cures the problem. But that shouldn't be necessary? (it's an iPad 2 32GB Wifi only).

I suggest you restore 4.3.3 and rejailbreak again.

That might help, but I find it odd that a factory-new iPad 2 gets taken out of the box, comes with 4.3.3, gets activated on iTunes then jailbreaked straight away and has bugs already? Even in safe mode?

You may have used Jailbreakme 3.0 the first day of jailbreak that came out, I did not jailbreak it on the first day and I don't have this issue.

Yeah I restored and re-jailbroke. It seems to work now. And so did PKGBackup. Yay!

so restore and rejailbreak to fix the app-unexpected-shut-down issue?
I have that issue. I will be doing somethin on my ipad and it will just randomly close the app and jump to SB.

It could be due to some tweaks you installed like RetinaPad & etc.

Isn't PKGBackup AWESOME?? Sorry, I just loooove that App, it has saved me many-a-time

Also, Safe Mode only disables MS add ons. If you have any other hacks or tweaks that do not use MS, they will not be disabled. Just in case you did not know (not calling you dumb or anything)

And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!
