Default Could an iPhone 3G be hardware-bricked by restoring
I have this somewhat stupid problem. Some time ago (couple of months or more, I don't remember, and I did not post this earlier because...well...OK, I didn't have any reason, but whatsoever) I was trying to get my 3G back to life, and IIRC it was somewhere in the middle of a restore when the screen went blank and the restore stopped with an error (can't remember which one). Since then, it does not show anything on screen when plugged in either PC or charger and does not react to any button presses. This looks like a hardware fault to me. Could I be wrong? And how could this be fixed (if anyhow)?

Try a hard reboot, holding power and home buttons down together.

Thank you, the phone now shows some signs of life. It booted into DFU, and was detected by iTunes and redsn0w. Now all that is left is to get it working, but that's all software and a different story
