Default Jailbroken iphone 8.1.2 - how to check if the iphone unlocked w/o restore
    Hi all,

I got my iphone unlocked service done and I followed the instruction came with email that oen itunes, connect the iphone to itunes with diff. carrier SIM card, wait until itunes detect the phone then disconnect the phone wait for 10 seconds then reconnect and the phone will permanently unlocked. I did that but I did not get the "congratulation" msg from itunes telling the phone is successfully unlocked. Question is how do I check if the phone is actually unlocked or not?
    please help

Easiest way is to simply put in the new SIM and see what happens.

I put in the t-mobile SIM card and status bar shows No service. Again I really don't want to loose my jailbreak and don't want to restore the phone. Just to make sure it is unlocked cuz I am travel internationally at the end this month.

If it was unlocked in the carrier line it would say unlocked.

If you put the T-Mobile sim in it and the phone did not kick back to the activation screen then it is unlocked. If it was locked it would kick back to the activation screen then give you a "sim not supported error".

Those free sites don't work anymore to tell if the phone is locked or not. That's why it says check sim lock there. Most likely a link to pay for a real check.
Just see what I posted above about how to tell if yours is unlocked.

You bought your iPhones unlocked though right? That's probably the difference. None of the free unlock check sites have worked very reliably for like 6 months now.

Just tried mine on that site and I get the check sim lock too, mine is one of the factory unlocked i6 using the t-mobile option on launch day.

Does it show a "Carrier" though?
If not, it's unlocked. I just tried mine also and shows no carrier, meaning it's unlocked.

Default Jailbroken iphone 8.1.2 - how to check if the iphone unlocked w/o restore
Actually just remembered I sold my launch day i6 to get a 128gb one. I bought that one here already unlocked from a cell phone store here. It's reading as Att for carrier. Doesn't tell me it's unlocked though on that site even though it is.
My launch day T-Mobile one would probably read just like yours do.

Well that sux, can't trust that site at all. Proven way is to insert another sim I guess.

Ya I know, used to use that site all the time to check. Now I either just check myself or pay a dollar or two to get it checked. Normally only do that if I can't figure out the carrier though.

What site do you use then, paying a dollar or two?
