Default Do I Need to Retain Modem F/W 01.59.00 on iPhone 4 (AT&T)?
I have an iPhone 4 (on AT&T) that's jailbroken on 4.3.3. Is there any reason that I need to retain 01.59.00 baseband? I already contacted AT&T and they unregistered and registered my iPhone (reprovision?) and the CSR told me that they've been have issues in the Los Angeles area for the past 8 days.

I'm asking because I'm able to connect to WiFi and send/receive calls but unable to browse web on 3G after restoring, even though I have 3G signal.

I'm confused. If they are having network issues then it won't matter what baseband you have... the problem is on their end, not yours. Secondly... if you're on AT&T then you don't need to unlock and there is no reason to keep the 1.59 baseband... UNLESS... you want to sell your phone at some point. Having it unlocked doubles your customer base and raises the value of the phone.

    Thanks for the response.

I had tried varios methods of re-jailbreaking iPhone and finally ended up setting it as a new iPhone through iTunes and it's been working fine. Except, that instead of it showing 4 bars it only shows 1 bar at all times. I do plan on selling this phone when the new iPhone becomes available. So, I do need to keep the1.59 baseband for unlocking prior to sale.

Try installing Ultrasnow to see if your signals get bump up.
