Thank you. This phone started as a 4.3.5 . I was trying to unlock it for my sister. It all makes sense now. Thank you for the help Mes.

Try building and restoring to 4.1.
You need to download Sn0wbreeze 2.2.1 and the 4.1 ipsw.

Apple is signing 4.1 so Tiny Umbrella is not needed.
If iTunes Error 10xx, use 'exit recovery' from Tiny Umbrella.

Hi bugle. Try restoring to 4.1.

Run Tiny Umbrella, advanced tab, uncheck 'set hosts to Cydia on exit', exit Tiny Umbrella.
Download Snowbreeze 2.1, redsn0w 0.9.6rc8, and the 4.1 firmware ipsw.
Build a custom firmware with Snowbreeze using Simple mode. Exit Snowbreeze.
Connect iphone. iTunes may open, that's ok. Leave it open.
Run redsn0w, select one (1) option 'just enter pwnd-DFU'.
.....follow the count-down timer until it reports successfully entered pwnd-DFU.
Open iTunes, shift/select restore with the custom firmware
If iTunes Error 10xx, use 'exit recovery' (not fix recovery) from Tiny Umbrella.

    Done. Restored, jailbroken, and activated.

hi thanks for the fast response, but the snowbreeze can't read 4.1 ipsw, it is for the 4.2.1 only, maybe you confuse something?
Yes been unchecked already before 'set hosts to Cydia on exit'.

@bugis083: I am not sure how to help you, sorry. The procedure works for many.
I am confused why it does not work for you.

It is possible your computer or software has problems.
I suggest trying on a different computer.

Use iReb (r4) and click iphone 3G(s) ... Download firmware 4.1, shift restore on stock firmware 4.1 without tiny umbrella running. Use redsn0w to jailbreak.
