Thread: Can I downgrade iPhone 4 iOS 4.3.5 to 4.3.3 ?

  1. #1
    Hi

I have an iphone 4 iOS 4.3.5 and I wanna downgrade to 4.3.3 in order to jailbreak. The thing is, my SHSH is not saved in cydia. Is there any way I could downgrade?
    Thx

I forgot to mention that I used tinyumbrella to save my SHSH blobs before upgrading from 4.2.1 to 4.3.5 but it is NOT saved in cydia

No. SHSH blobs are required to load any 'non-current' iOS.

Even if the blobs of my old firmware were saved on my computer?

That's an ''entirely different story'''. You '''have''' SHSH blobs.
So yes, you can download to any version you have previously saved SHSH blobs.

I see..so I can only downgrade to the SHSH firmware saved on my computer (which is 4.2.1) but I cannot downgrade to 4.3.3. Right?*

Nope. Need previously saved SHSH blobs to load any 'non-current' iOS.

You can thank Mr Steve Jobs for this restriction.

I just found out that I accidentally saved the blobs for 4.3.5 and tinyumbrella overwrote the previous 4.2.1 blob... GOD DANGIT!!!

Tiny Umbrella does not overwrite different iOS SHSH blob versions.
If selected, it will overwrite identical (device + version) blobs.
Check around, you may find it again lingering in a different directory.

REALLY?? Coz the overwrite box is checked in the options, so i thought it overwrote the older version. And I checked the SHSH save directory and there was only one file in it, so I thought it was the 4.3.5 version. Besides, when I tried to downgrade to 4.2.1, itunes wouldn't let me and i got error 3194
P.S. I already added the required line to the host file but it didn't work n i got the same error

Tiny Umbrella doesn't delete anything, it '''may''' overwrite a same device/same version SHSH blob '''if''' the overwrite option is selected. If you had it before, it's either in another directory or you deleted it.

Name of blob itself suggests it.

A typical 3G 4.2.1 SHSH blob looks like this: 9446XXXXXX03-iphone3g-4.2.1.shsh

The leading digits, ie: "9446XXXXXX03" are unique for each device and will be different.

I couldn't find any file like that. The only files i found were the knwon device file and the cache file. My guess is TU didn't save my blobs since they were not saved on cydia, since the iphone was never jailbroken before.

With Tiny Umbrella Advanced tab, check/uncheck 'get from Cydia' to get all available SHSH blobs. If they were available via Cydia, they should still be available again
