The phone isn't screwed, you just have to wait a while.

If you didn't use iFaith when you were on 4.2.1 you do not have the SHSHs for that either.

Is it error 20 or -20

If TU recognizes and allows you to Save SHSHs then you click on it and Cydia will automatically save any SHSHs available which right now is 4.3.4

To save your shsh blob without a bootable device or have not used TU to save this idevice , do the followings below :

You have to retrieve your ECID :
Put your iphone into recovery mode , yours is already in recovery mode so you need have to do this.
Now Click Start and type Device Manager
    Scroll to Universal Bus Controller
    Highlight Apple Mobile Device USB
    Right click properties
    Scroll to Device Instance Path
Move the bottom cursor to the right
You will see your 16 digits ECID
Copy that and paste onto the ECID section of TU
Make sure in TU : request shsh from Apple or uncheck > request shsh from cydia.
    Click Save shsh.
You are now done saving 4.3.4 blob and all future blobs.

In your TU , now check mark : request from Cydia, you should get shsh from 4.1 all the way to present. Try it.

You don't want to restore to 4.3.4, what you want is 4.3.3

Hi guys! Faced this problem today. I had a ipad baseband and pressed update. So I'm in recovery loop now.
I went thru all them steps. When I open TU, click "manual ECID" on my device, adding Iphone 3GS and ECID number i retrieved, press "Create custom device" nothing is happening. Device is not changing its ECID. therefore I'm not getting any SHSH from th server..
Sorry guys I've got it, had to put "name of display" as well.

ok. So I got SHSH saved. What should I do next? How will I restore my iphone after?
