Do a hard reset. If this doesn't help, i guess you need a restore.

im kind of having the same problem. got error 1013 but when i run the fix terminal says

    iMac:~ my$ /Users/me/Downloads/fixrecovery-osx-1/fixrecovery43 ; exit;
    dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libcurl.4.dylib
    Referenced from: /Users/compusainc/Downloads/fixrecovery-osx-1/fixrecovery43
Reason: Incompatible library version: fixrecovery43 requires version 6.0.0 or later, but libcurl.4.dylib provides version 5.0.0
    Trace/BPT trap
    logout

    [Process completed]

    is that an OS issue?

Not sure if fix recovery has a Mac version, I don't think fix rec from TU will work. Don't you have a PC ?

Here is the Mac version : Fix Recovery 43: fixes 1013 and other bug tools after iOS4.3.1 recovered | iPad 2 iPhone 5 jailbreak for apps
Thank you thank you thank you!!! I have been having problems restoring any iPhone that was jailbroken on on any of the 4.x's that require the limera1n exploit. The only way I could get either of my 3G[S]'s to successfully restore was to take em back to 3.x and now I thought I was never gonna get my i4 functioning again. Now it's back up & running on 4.3.3, and I'm a happy camper. Thank you again for the tip.

Default iPhone 3Gs ios 4.3.3 stuck in dfu no shsh blobs
I've got an iPhone 3GS where I don't have any 4.3.3 shsh blobs.
However I managed to install 4.3.3 using the tiny tss from tiny umbrella and the phone is stuck in dfu. Then I used redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 and chose just boot tethered right now and finally I get in the iOS screen. But when I try to restart the phone it goes to dfu.

Then I opened iFaith and extracted the blobs where I've got now the 4.3.3, then signed an ipsw and tried to restore in iTunes however an error 37 comes up (tried googling this error but results yielded were not in my scenario) and then reboots in dfu mode again. I tried using the fixrecovery43 but upon complete the iphone reboots in dfu once again.

Is there a way how can I get the untether and remove this iphone from the dfu loop?

Please help as I am out of ideas what I can do

I thought using iFaith 1.1 is better than iFaith 1.0..do you think this is the issue?

I think it's rather being that since I don't have 4.3.3 shsh blobs and installing 4.3.3 without shsh the NOR will not be signed. therefore ending up in this state however after dumping shsh through ifaith after 4.3.3 is restored will result in shsh not completely signed. Is this true?

No. If there are no shsh then ifaith won't work.
Coz it gets shsh from the device itself. But seeing that u restored without them it wont have anything to extract.

Use redsn0w to boot the phone... Also were you jailbroken before ?

No unfortunately I wasn't jailbokren before as this iphone is a replacement for another I replaced... but now I have two more questions after your answer:

    1. How come apple is still signing shsh for 4.1?
    2. And how was I able to restore a 4.0 CFW (created by pwnage tool) without shsh and not the stock 4.0 without shsh?

What firmware are you restoring too ?

You must have 4.3.3 shsh blob if you want 4.3.3

If your iphone is bootable, run Tiny Umbrella , plug iphone in > adv tab > select > request shsh from Cydia > Click save shsh.
    If your iphone is not bootable but in recovery or in dfu mode or you don't see your device name in TU, then you have to go a different route, do this ;

To save your shsh blob without a bootable device or have not used TU to save this idevice , do the followings below :

You have to retrieve your ECID :
Put your iphone into recovery mode , yours is already in recovery mode so you need have to do this.
Now Click Start and type Device Manager
    Scroll to Universal Bus Controller
    Highlight Apple Mobile Device USB
    Right click properties
    Scroll to Device Instance Path
Move the bottom cursor to the right
You will see your 16 digits ECID
Copy that and paste onto the ECID section of TU
Make sure in TU : request shsh from Apple or uncheck > request shsh from cydia.
    Click Save shsh.

Ok, did all that and what's next?

Now that you've got the ECID check if you see like:
    iPhone4 4.3.3

If yes the proceed as follows:
    1. Be sure you are in dfu mode
    2. click on Start TSS Server in Tiny Umbrella
    3. Open iTunes
    4. Press shift (on windows) or alt (on mac) and click restore
    5. Browse to you 4.3.3 firmware
    6. let iTunes finish the restore

This method will bypass apple's validation servers and use the local environment as the server (gs.apple.com) on 127.0.0.1

Please report you success or failure

    Hello Ivone
I tried everything that I could possibly do. 2 days ago, I was able to get it to get out of DFU mode and was able to see the USB cable connect and the 911 dialer. However, the next day when I tried to use it went back to DFU mode and not I can't get anything to work on it, no light nothing except that when I connect it to Itune it makes a noise that it is connected. Is it possible to call or have you call me so we can go through this once and for all?
    Regards
