    NEW QUESTION 3 POSTS DOWN....

Hey sorry for the noob question. But if my iphone4 was already jailbroken (i honestly forget which jailbreak i used but i think it was snowbreeze) what do i do?

I assume I just back up my iphone, then i assume on the iphone i do a complete rest, then update to the newest fw on itunes, then go to jailbreak me? Is that correct? Finally after thats done and i restore will I get back everything I already had?

You can backup your cydia stuffs with Pkgbackup, sync with itunes > restore > Jailbreak > Sync again > Restore backup with Pkgbackup.

After you do the jailbreakme process, I assume you're going to "restore from back up" and not do another complete restore. Those are different things, so just assure you are doing the right-click device>restore from backup in iTunes and not the actual restore to factory settings.

Thanks for the info everyone. Im just confused on what i do first as far as connecting to itunes to update?

After i make the backup of my phone, do I just connect to itunes and say update to the newest version? I thought that bricks yoru phone b/c they know you are jailbroken then? Arent i soupposed to delete and reset everything (after i back it up) but before i update to the new fw version?

SOrry if im making this more confusing. I just dont want to brick my phone.

    THanks.

If you bricked your iDevice, you can always Restore it. You can try to restore via DFU or Recovery Mode. You don't have to necessary delete and reset everything just to update, but If you want a clean restore, then might as well don't restore from backup.
