    Default iPhone 4.0.1 Restore issues
    Hey fellow MMI's,

I'm having trouble restoring my iPhone 3GS 4.0.1 Jailbroken, I restored default factory settings from the iPhone and erased all media and content.

Now when I turn it on its stuck on the spinning wheel of death, I entered it into DFU mode to restore and tried recovery mode.. It says extracting software then this message appears

The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.

    Thanks in advance

Do you have 4.0.1 shsh blogs with Cydia ? If you do, then point your hosts file towards Cydia and then restore.

How do you point your host files towards cydua and restore? I've been trying to upgrade my 4.01 jailbroken device and get the message The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.

I even tried doing a restore and I get this message?

    Thank you from a newbie
