Thread: Wierd boot screen

    Default Wierd boot screen
Well I've got a fresh install of 3.1.3 and jailbroke it with jailbreakme.com and cydia is completely updated. That's all I've done to it. I've noticed that when I boot up the device that after about 30 seconds a loading wheel will appear and 2 to 3 thin lines of colorful static will appear in the black background. I did not notice this before the device was jailbroken.

Can anybody explain what this is?

It's from jailbreakme. It's normal and everyone who used jailbreakme has it.

Though Google is evil, you can still use it as a friend:

"The glitches on the boot screen are normal. You're looking at the kernel shellcode jailbreakme uses (temporarily stored on the framebuffer)."

Nuisance only, harmless, does not affect performance, hardware or firmware. Some people use a different (larger) boot image to hide the lines you are referring to.
