Thread: SHSHs saved on 4.0.2 (Why?)

Default SHSHs saved on 4.0.2 (Why?)
Ok, so when I open up Cydia at the top it says in green:

This device has SHSHs on file for iPhone OS / iOS:
    3.1.2, 4.0, 4.0.2

Ok, how in the world and why did it save to 4.0.2?

Yes, saving blobs does not require that firmware to be jailbroken. It's a safety net to ensure you could restore it IF you wanted to.
You never know what might happen in the future...

Using tiny umbrella or editing your hosts files will do the same thing even if not jailbroken.

i have the same is it because you tricked your phone in thinking that it is running 4.0.2 and then it saves it.
i wouldnt ebt on 4.0.2 if you need to restore just go back to 4.0.1 and use jailbreakme.com

It's a shame that the system didn't work as completely for you, mindgem, as 3.1.3 was missed. But saurik's TSS caching server can only do so much, and a few must get missed everytime a new iOS comes out.

And that's why it's best to use TinyUmbrella to push your way out of line on saurik's server and force the SHSH save for any currently signed iOS.

Because Apple stopped signing 4.0.1 on Thursday, August 19. It's WAY too late to ask for it now.

Now here it comes...he's gonna ask me why it saved 4.0.2 when he only has 4.0.1 installed.
