    Check your Cydia and see what SHSH files it has saved. If it says 3.x.x you can downgrade to that specific firmware. Download tiny umbrealla from The Firmware Umbrella Download the firmware from iPod, iPhone and iPad Firmware Download. In tiny umbrealla click the start TSS server and in inutnes shift-click restore and select the firmware. Done.

    I don't think you need SHSH for ipod touch 2G. He should just be able to download the ipod touch firmware, probably put it in dfu or restore mode, then shift-click restore.

    Probably not, I'm just getting used to saying it anyway. If it doesn't work, at least you know what to do
