In that case use pwnage tool or snowbreeze to make a custom 4.3.3 firmware and restore to that in itunes. You wont get error 1013 doing this.

Thanks - I'll try it when I get home tonight -- what prevents the custom firmware from getting the error ??

The custom firmware doesnt have the baseband in it. Your baseband is what is causing you to get that issue.

You arent trying to point redsnow to the custom firmware are you? You need to point redsnow to regular stock firmware.

Sounds like you have the wrong redsnow. Download latest redsnow 0.9.6rc19. Then point it to a 4.3.3 firmware.

Just went through that myself -- you have to create a custom 4.21 bundle using pwnage tool and put the phone in pwned DFU mode (using redsnow) then you can use iTunes to restore to 4.21 (Use the custom ipsw and make sure you follow all the other steps too)
