Thread: [How-To] Using tiny umbrella to update/downgrade/restore

  1. #621
I'm lost....running tiny umbrella as administrator. all shsh files are saved in Cydia when I look under tiny umbrella. I mistakenly upgraded to 4.3 on my iPhone. I'm lost how to downgrade or even if I should (though I miss my jailbreak greatly). I was 4.2.something with baseband 1.59. suggestions? be gentle, I'm fragile! thanks

If it was able to save 4.2.1 SHSH then just follow the guide.

Doesnt matter where your SHSH are saved. Just follow the guide in the first post for restoring to 4.2.1.

Relax.... Now, do you have i4, or 3GS? If TU save your shsh then you should be able to downgrade to 4.2.1 or what ever it saved, just that you may have lost your unlock. Go to setting, about, and tell me what modem firmware(bb)

    4.10.01

    i4 previously i was bb 1.59

There is an j/b for 4.3 now, but it's at a early stage beta form, I recommend to downgrade to 4.2.1 and jailbreak it with greenposion, look up which version to use, and sorry to tell you've lost your unlock. D/l stock fw 4.2.1 open TU, start TSS open iTunes put phone in dfu mode hold down shift key and click on "restore" then point to the fw 4.2.1 u just downloaded, open and let it downgrade to 4.2.1 and then use GP to jailbreak it .

    thank you much

I thought the whole point of saving with Cydia was so you didn't lose anything, including bb. I guess not.

Saving shsh allow you to restore to fw that apple is no longer signing. Apple is no longer signing 4.2.1. If u didn't save those shsh you wouldn't be able to downgrade now. Anytime you update you are installing the newest iOS and bb. Which you did.

I saved on Cydia, not tiny umbrella.

When you save SHSH I thought it was all stored on Saurik's/Cydia server.

Cydia and TU works hand in hand, think about it, you did not save with TU. How come it's there?
