Thread: SHSH Blob 3.1.3

    Default SHSH Blob 3.1.3
    Hey everyone.
I'm having trouble downgrading my iPhone 3G.
I've been reading about these "SHSH Blobs"
I got this phone with it running 4.0.1,
and I have no way of getting the SHSH Blob for my phone.

So my question to you is...
is there a way that I can download an SHSH Blob 3.1.3?
I've been searching for a download, but I can't find one.
Can anybody supply me with a link or email one?
    Thanks people! (=

A 3G doesn't require blobs to downgrade to 3.x.x. Only for 4.x. If the reason your looking to downgrade is to jailbreak, redsn0w will jailbreak 4.0.1.

And shsh blobs aren't something you can just download. They are unique to each phone. You can only get them for a fw while apple is currently signing that fw. For example since 4.0.1 came out apple stopped signing 4.0, so it is no longer possible to get shsh blobs saved for 4.0. The have to be saved while apple is still signing.

    Thanks for the information.
Every time I do try to downgrade to 3.1.3 or 3.0. I get an error from iTunes.
    I didn't know that redsn0w would jailbreak 4.0.1.
But with that said, my power button is broken, sadly.
And I understand that you need to the power in order
to enter DFU mode, which is a necessity to unlocking process.

do you know a way to enter DFU mode without the power button.
Such as a software of any kind?

    I've been trying the c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu method.
But it always says "Could not pair iPhone. Failure."
If there is not a software, do you know how I can fix THAT problem?
    - Thanks!

What error are you getting when you try downgrading to 3.1.3? If it's 1015 that's normal and ok, you should be able to use irecovery to kick it out of recovery mode.
Sorry I don't have an answer on the dfu mode thing but yeah you'd need the power button for redsn0w

  5. #5
Yeah, it's usually the 1015 error.
    I'll give it another try.
What about trying to downgrade to a Pre-Jailbroken 3.1.3?
    Would that work?

1015 is normal and good. That means the restore went through. Use irecovery

Okay. I've restored my phone to 3.1.3 firmware, got the 1015.
Now my problem is that I'm still stuck in recovery mode.
I've used iRecovery and the issue is still there.
When I open up iRecovery, a command prompt pops up
and then disappears within a split second, but nothing happens.
My phone is connected and everything, it's detected by iTunes.
Is there any other solution to recovery mode problem?

Open up a command propt the normal way then drag the irecovery.exe into the command prompt window. Then run the commands for irecovery.

    Here's a guide for irecovery:
iRecovery: Get Out iPhone from Recovery Mode Loop on Restart | iPhone

Recboot and quickpwn may be able to kick you out of recovery also. Not positive on those though, I've never used them myself.

Okay. I tried to do what you said about the command prompt
    and I got the following:

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    C: \Users\Kevin>"C: \Users\Kevin\Documents\Downloads\iHackintosh iRecovery Pac
    kage for Windows & Mac\irecovery-windows\iRecovery.exe" -s
    iRecovery - Recovery Utility
    by wEsTbAeR-- and Tom3q

    Got USB
    No iPhone/iPod found.

    C: \Users\Kevin>"C: \Users\Kevin\Documents\Downloads\iHackintosh iRecovery Pac
    kage for Windows & Mac\irecovery-windows\iRecovery.exe" -f
    iRecovery - Recovery Utility
    by wEsTbAeR-- and Tom3q

    No valid file set.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

As you can see, I tried both options, and nothing happened on my iPhone.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    I'm off to try RecBoot.

Edit: RecBoot got me out of recovery mode!!! (=

Ok glad that one worked. Just wasn't sure, I've never used recboot. So your all set back on 3.1.3?

  13. #11
Yes, I actually went to 3.0. Thanks a lot for that.
That'll relieve some of my stress.
But I'm stilling having a problem with unlocking/jailbreaking it.
I know this is going to be a struggle because my power button is
    not functioning correctly.
Of course, DFU mode requires that button. So I'm still looking
    for alternatives for that.
I just tried to restore to a Pre-Jailbroken 3.0 Firmware.
    That didn't work unfortunately.
    Any tips?

The phone has to be jailbroken already in order to install a custom fw, so that won't work for you until you get initially jailbroken. Redsn0w requires the use of the power button so that's out. I think blackra1n and spirit are your only options. Spirit requires you to be on either 3.1.2 or 3.1.3. Blackra1n will work on 3.1 through 3.1.2, not too sure about using it on 3.0 though...

Okay. Thank you! I'll give it a go.

If you get error 1015, TinyUmbrella will kick it out of recovery mode real nicely. Did it twice last week

After several attempts with Blackra1in on 3.0 AND 3.1.3,
I'm back to the point where I'm stuck in recovery,
and my iphone is no longer recognized by my computer.
So I don't know what to do at this point.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
When I used BlackRa1n, it put my phone into recovery, and then rebooted.
I didn't show the picture of the man like it usually does.
I've used BlackRa1n successfully in the past, so I'm familiar with it.
    Anything?

P.S. Thanks for sticking with me for all this time! (=

Why don't you do this, since you have a 3G, restore again to 4.0.1 and jailbreak with Redsn0w0.9.5b5 , remember to point to 4.0 not 4.0.1. After that download Snowbreeze 1.5.2 and create a custom firmware of 3.1.3. Put your Iphone into Recovery mode/if not DFU mode and restore to cfw of 3.1.3. Once restored you are jailbroken at 3.1.3 and then unlock with Ultrasn0w.
I do have a copy of Snowbreeze 1.5.2 if you need it, PM with email.

By the way shsh blogs for 3G only starts at OS 4.0 and above, any stock restore fw below 4.0 does not require shsh blogs.

Ok, heres what I did to get my 3G from 4.0.1 to 3.1.3.

    1) Download 3.1.3 ipsw (and 3.1.2 as well for use with Redsn0w)

    2) Download TinyUmbrella (to kick out of recovery mode)

    3) Download Redsn0w 0.9.4 (for 3.1.3, if going to 3.1.2, use Redsn0w v0.9.3)

    4) Shift+restore to stock 3.1.3 fw

    5) When error 1015 occurs, ignore it and exit out of iTunes.

    6) Open TinyUmbrella. Select "kick device out of recovery mode". Phone should reboot.

    7) You will then see your phone at the iTunes+USB screen.

    8) Open Redsn0w 0.9.4 and select the 3.1.2 ipsw.

    9) When prompted, select Cydia only, if you dont know what the other options mean.

    10) Follow on-screen prompts and allow phone to finish up.

    11) You should now be able to access your springboard.

Unlock with Ultrasn0w which is already in Cydia

Edit: you can try Yeow's method but it takes way too long in my opinion. Sn0wbreeze custom fw failed to work on my 3G but maybe thats just me

But the method I gave you is my successful method that I personally used.

Thanks for the help Yeow and Anniex,
I would have used RedSn0w a long time ago.
But as I stated in my previous posts, my sleep/power button doesn't work.
So, I can't put it in DFU mode, which is a necessity in RedSn0w.
I need to figure out how to do that without the power button.
    Any tips on that?

I've already tried the c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu. No luck.

Doh. I guess I missed that part. Do what Yeow said.

Sn0wbreeze is basically creating a custom fw (already jailbroken fw) that you can shift+restore to so that you dont have to enter DFU mode. You just restore to the fw like it was any other fw with shift+restore and if successful, you will have a jailbroken phone. For the life of me I couldnt get it to work tho haha. But then I just got impatient and went to Redsn0w so I dont know what happened. But looks like Sn0wbreeze is your option here.

Okay thanks for that. I just have to wait for my battery to drain now. Lol
Since my iPhone is no longer recognized by my computer or iTunes,
and my iPhone is stuck in Recovery mode,
and since I can't use my power button to reboot it,
there's nothing I can do right now. =/
Thanks for the tips people! I'll get to it ASAP.
I've been at it for 3 days, and been without a phone of any kind.
    This is STRESSFUL! Haha!
