Default SHSH saved locally, but didn't get onto Cydia in time?
Hello, I saved my SHSH locally, using FirmwareUmbrella, but when I went to check today if it was on Cydia, it said that both Apple and Cydia don't have my SHSH, and it says there's no way to save it on Cydia's servers now. But when I click display SHSH's, it tells me all the devices that have it saved. Is there anyway I can submit my saved SHSH's to Cydia now? Thanks in advance!

Its not a big deal if cydia doesnt have your SHSH as long as you do. You can always just use tiny umbrella to downgrade.

Well see that kind of worries me. Because if my computer ever crashes, and I have to wipe it and reinstall the OS, then I'll lose them. My Mac is running kind of slow lately, and I don't have a backup.

Guess its time to do a backup then
You could just backup the SHSH folder onto a usb drive or something

What about Umbrella telling me that the SHSH I saved for my iPhone 4 is a 3.2 iPad? I don't even own an iPad!

It wouldn't let me select an iPhone 4. Newest version of Umbrella. I will try it again when I get home.

Just save them for 4.0.1 when Tiny Umbrella is updated for it. No big deal.

As far as losing you files due to HDD crash - I have 4 SHSHs saved and it's like 60kb, so it's no big deal to email them to yourself.

How exactly does the TinyUmbrella local server work? Do I just start the server and restore, or is there more to it? My last phone was a iPhone 3G so this will be my first experience with SHSHs and downgrading.

Just click Start Server and it automatically edits your host file by adding

    127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

Then when you turn it off, it replaces that with

    #127.0.0.1 gs.apple.com

The "#" symbol in your hosts file means its a comment, just like "//" and "*/" & "/*" are for commenting in programming.
