Thread: iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 => 4.0 and back?

    Default iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 => 4.0 and back?
    I have an iPhone 3GS running v3.1.3; never jailbroken.

    Is there anything I can/should do prior to upgrading to 4.0 to give me the option to downgrade back to 3.1.3 if 4.x sucks?

    What would you do if you had this phone (new from warranty replacement)?

    You can't save your 3.1.3 files anymore, so you can not downgrade.

    That's too bad. So the only remaining question is: should I upgrade to 4.0 or stay with 3.1.3?

    Thanks for your reply!

    If you want to be jailbroken, stay at 3.1.3.
    If you are in no hurry to jailbreak, I would upgrade to 4.0. On the 3GS, 4.0 runs great.
