Thread: 3GS restore question

  1. #1
    Default 3GS restore question
I have my 3GS FW 3.1.2, new bootrom, jailbroke with spirit. I want to do a full restore and leave it on 3.1.2 and rejailbreak it. I thought I read somewhere that apple isn't verifying pre 4.0 iOS's. I just want to get my phone back to stock 3.1.2 with none of my info on it. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance.

    Can I just do "shift+restore"? I downloaded the 3.1.2 3GS FW.

the only way you will be able to restore is if your 3.1.2 shsh's were saved on cydia before February 2nd or 3rd, when you open cydia at the top it should say "this device has shsh's on file for iPhone OS: 3.1.2,3.1.3", if all it shows is 3.1.3 then that is the only firmware you will be able to restore to

In cydia it does say "this device has shsh's on file for iPhone OS: 3.1.2,3.1.3" and i'm on 3.1.2. I'm not sure what that means though. Can I just do a shift+restore in itunes andjust re jailbreak it with spirit? Do I need to do anything about the shsh files?
