    Question Few Questions
    Hi There,

I am slightly confused over a few things.

I bought my 3gs in July 2009 (therefore old bootrom as to my knowledge new bootrom shipped wef October 2009). However, when I check my version number it is MC not MB as I would expect. Does this mean that at some point the bootrom has been updated by a firmware update? (I am not at home at present but to my memory the last I checked I am on new bootrom)

Does an exploit actually exist for the new bootrom? I realise all of the current iOS JB tools are still based on 24kpwn and therefore only work on 3gs with old bootrom (i.e. not mine )

I appreciate that baseband is not downgraded with a fw downgrade but is BootRom? In essence, if I where to downgrade to say OS 3.1would that put me back on the old BootRom?

Also, are there any JB tools that work on linux? I am planning to move from Windows to Ubuntu in near future but I will be keeping windows for gaming anyway. But is there a way to JB on linux?

Sorry for all these questions, but any help would be appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Will

Mines mc131b bought in October which is old bootrom. You should downgrade to 3.1.2 if you have blobs saved. Then jailbreak with blackra1n and restore to custom ipsw4.0.

Bootrom never changes to my knowledge. Think it's hardware not software.

Hope this clears a few things up
