Thumbs up moving from 3.1.2 to 4.0... help!!!!
i have an iphone which is running on 3.1.2 i jailbreaked and unlocked it using blackra1n and blacksn0w and now i am planning to upgrade to os 4.0.

Please let me know the software that i can use for jailbreaking and unlocking and also what version of iTunes i should be using for Restoring the ipsw 4.0 file

I used Itunes 9.2, and just downloaded the ipsw from itunes too. Just locate the ipsw file so you can use it later to jailbreak. Once you update to 4.0 through itunes, download redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3, run it and select the 4.0 ipsw. Follow the directions to enter DFW mode, and let it do it's thing. Once the device reboots, just open up cydia and add repo666.ultrasn0w.com to your sources to install ultrasn0w. I did all this last night, and my unlock works fine.

If you're using windows here's a guide for it:
