Default n00b question, request quick answer
could anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial to install installing another, more open source os, on my iphone.

i am currently thinking of android as it appears to be the simplest, but i am open to suggestions for other os/guides for installing os

using something like this: How to Install Android on Your iPhone - PCWorld
EDIT: ^^^ this guide specifically mentions non-3gs iphones!!! (1) why can i not use this on my 3gs if i downgrade my firmware??? (2) can anyone please help me to find a guide that would be applicable on an iphone 3gs and possibly a little easier, please (the author of the above mentioned says he is working on a 3gs fix, but it is not currently available)?

sorry for the noob question, i am very new to the iphone.
any help would be greatly appreciated :-)
