Default setting up as new iPhone without updating firmware
Hey guys! Can this be done?

I just sold my 3g (3.1.2, 5.11.07) on eBay to offset the cost of my new iPhone 4. I want to completely wipe the phone clean, re-jailbreak and unlock, and then add the apps and JB programs that I have back on (part of the sale).

Can I do that without updating to 3.1.3? Sorry if this has been answered, I looked everywhere and couldn't find an answer.

    Thanks!!

Sure, download the 3.1.2 firmware, open iTunes, hold the shift key, click restore and point to the firmware you downloaded.

Well I knew that mama So after I do that then it will be set up as new?
What would I do next? Won't it just add my email accounts and stuff back on there?

And just don't sync. Then none of your data will go on the phone.

In order to put you apps back on you will have to sync, you can uncheck everything in iTunes but apps and sync them back on, but whomever you sell it to will have to sync it to their iTunes at some point and that will erase everything you out back on

There used to an app that allowed your phone to sync to more than one iTunes account, although I don't recall the name or if it is compatible with the newer firmwares
