Default Help! Dropped phone, no screen image, how to replace
My son dropped his 3G last night and now the screen is only all white with some pixel lines across it. Thankfully, I have a 3G phone that was not being used to replace it. The replacement is not unlocked/broken yet. It's at my office so I can't remember if it is 3.1.2 or earlier....

    Questions:

    1) What order do I do steps to transfer all his info to the new phone?
2)Do I unlock/jailbreak the new phone and then restore from the back-up I just made?
    3) When do I put his sim card in the new phone? Before the jailbreakk/unlock or after?

Please post the steps in order for me. I've never had to do this before.

Also, if there is anything else I should know post it!

    Thanks!

Transfer his sim to new phone and then activate it, if his current phone is jailbroken and you made a backup of it then I wouldn't use that backup, instead sync the info in iTunes, I have read where restoring from backups of jailbroken phones can cause some battery issues and whatnot, after you are done with that then you can jailbreak and unlock (if needed)
