    Red face HELP on buying a new IPHONE 3gs. what firmware/BB should i avoid?
    need your help guys, i'm planning to buy a new iphone 3gs and i'm from philippines. i need to unlock the unit and jailbreak it so what firmware/baseband version should i avoid?

    also, how can i know the firmware/baseband if the phone is sealed?

    Avoid 3.1.3, baseband 5.12.01.

    You cant know if it is sealed you would have to ask the seller but it would have to be opened. Usually.

    well u can jailbreak 3.1.3 and musclenerd confirmed the new baseband will be unlocked on 4.0

    You can tell on a sealed box. The serial number is on the outside which means you can do the math and figure out what baseband/iboot/firmware is on it. Not that it matters because when 4.0 drops it's all going to be good
