Question Upgrading jailbroken 3GS to 3.1
    Hello,

Could use some help - I have a 3GS [3.0 (7A341), Modem firmware 04.26.08] that is already JB/unlocked (someone did that for me earlier, so don't know what program he used), Cydia shows in green that I can upgrade to 3.1.3.

I need to upgrade to 3.1 to use an application - how do I upgrade without loosing the capability to use non-AT&T carrier? I am not an expert in this so some detail instruction or link to such would be appreciated.

    thanks in advance

You should make a custom firmware using pwnagetool. This will preserve your baseband at 04.26.08

Here's a guide on how to make one: iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3GS Using PwnageTool [Mac]

The message in Cydia is actually not something saying you can upgrade to 3.1.3 - it's saying it has your SHSH for 3.1.3, you should search around to get an understanding of what that means.

There is, sn0wbreeze, but personally I don't recommend it. I'd prefer downloading a pwnagetool-made CFW if there was no way to get access to a mac.
