Default I need some advice on what I should do.
So, unfortunately I bricked my iphone 3G by upgrading to 3.1.3. and cannot use fuzzyband to downgrade.

So now I want to sell my iphone so that someone can use it with AT&T. After restoring and updating to 3.1.3, I then jailbroke it with Redsn0w 0.9.4 and browsed to my ipsw file (iPhone1,2_3.1.2_7D11_Restore). After the iPhone jailbreak was done and the phone restarted, I installed a friend's AT&T sim (who is on a different AT&T phone) to my iPhone but it didn't recognize it. The AT&T text never came up, even after rebooting the iPhone. Did I miss something? Should I have reset network settings within the iPhone?

Please advise what I should do so that the next owner that chooses to use their AT&T carrier won't have any problems using my iPhone.

    Thanks!

The reason your not getting the AT&T is because your iPhone is not activated just jailbroken.

At one point does the iPhone get activated? Before or after the jailbreak? Thanks!

The iPhone does get activated when you finish restoring and you restore your backup. but if you don't your phone is noactivated.

When you jailbreak your iPhone your not really activated. All you are is getting permission to add apps and so on.

Restore, and afterwards, let iTunes activate the phone before you jailbreak.

Thanks. Obviously I'm going to need an AT&T sim card inserted to the iPhone when I activate it right? I am currently only on Tmobile.
