Thread: Need reasons why my dad can let me jailbreak

Default Need reasons why my dad can let me jailbreak
So.... i jailbroke my iphone 3gs new boot rom 3.1.3 on spirit 3 days ago and was told to unjailbreak it by my dad because it voids the warranty. He said that even when i restore it, and something happens to the device to where i need to take it in and replace it, that apple can view all the history of every single detail of what the device has done even after restoring. so im trying to get him to let me jailbreak it again because an iphone isnt an iphone without jailbreak to me because i've had a jailbroken ipod touch for 3 years and i just cant not have it.... also if anyone knows anything about the risk of harming the device by jailbreaking please post.

As far as I'm aware, the beauty of jail breaking is that if anything does go wrong you can just restore and Apple would be non the wiser.

He is correct that they can tell. Even after a restore. But a majority of the time they don't care to run the program to check it.

If you've been jailbroken on your Touch for 3 years, and you need to crowd-source to find reasons why you need to jailbreak, then I don't think you need to jailbreak at all.

Just jailbreak it and don't tell your dad.

Unless you're scared of being grounded.

You already are jailbroken so if they actually were to check, your warranty would be voided anyway. I would just leave it now and restore if necessary

Tell your dad to come here ... and Search "Stay out of your business"

P.S. Why did you even tell your dad?
