Most programs use it, and these interferences can slow down the reboot; so better do not leave other progs open when using Spirit.
(I'd like to know which programs create this bug, by the way.)

On Mac, port 80 connections can be closed temporarely using Little Snitch, dunno for Windows, sorry - close everything else.

    Cool Very funny.
    Hello Mr. signme,

    Your link is very funny.
I don't even know what language this is.

Still, it's obviously talking about what everybody did before restoring in iTunes, before the jailbreak : Installing Saurik's server and getting your ECID and SHSH files (on Windows).

    Old cheese.

I don't see the reference to the reboot from Spirit jailbreak ?

i'm sorry guys. i'm little busy..
I just realize that you had much time to put questions.

I'm also getting the Code 1 Error. Stuck on 3.1.3/new baseband with AT&T, wich I dont have a sim for ofc =P

Got my 3gs in Feb, got to use it 1 day befor I updated it to 3.1.3 (Total Idiot, I know)

Guess we'll just have to wait untill Geohot pwns OS 4.0

Big thanks to Comex and all the Devs for making the software needed =)
try this: Insert your SIM Card from AT&T while doing the restore.

Restore your iPhone to OS 3.1.3 ... after restoring activate your iPhone from iTunes using your AT&T SIM Card ... after activation ... close iTune but keep your iPhone connected to the PC then open SPIRIT ... you will notice that when the spirit runs, it will say 'Connected to iPhone 3GS with FW 3.1.3 .... then click JAILBREAK ... then wait until it will reboot ... take note, SPIRIT will only run on an activated iPhone ... not stuck on EMERGENCY CALL ONLY or stuck on RECOVERY MODE ... this will work so long as you have the SIM Card from AT&T even if you are outside of USA... I hope this will help...

It works all the same with Europeen SIM cards.

For the couple of cases who get stuck temporarily in reboot, closing iTunes before the jailbreak sounds good !

The other question is : Does this slowdown still happen ?
If not, it could have been up to the overload of saurik's server (actually resolved) and my theory about port 80 was wrong.

    Any recent experiences ?

Sounds interesting ! But 404 not found.
Could you verify the link please ?
LiveClock Shiny Apple Theme, including LiveClock Dark - hmm, candlelight... - is on Cydia
    . . . . . . . (On iPhone 4 you'll have to put both out of their "Themes"-folder. Sorry for that)

I had the same problem. I actually managed to jailbreak it with Spirit but then upgradesd to 4.0. When I coludn't jailbreak 4.0 I went back to 3.1.3 and now, when I plug the iPhone into the PC iTunes shows this screen:

    What can I do?
