Thread: Spirit jailbreak wiped out my photos and videos

Default Spirit jailbreak wiped out my photos and videos
I just installed the Spirit jailbreak and after it came back up I checked my camera roll and it was completely emptied. I checked it because somebody else posted that it happened to them. You've been warned.

I dont think this is the point. When we are taking new pictures, they dont appear into Camera rool anymore... No way to take pictures or videos.

Nevermind... I restore a clean 3.1.3 and then jailbreak and everything seems to work just fine!

Crud. Any way on earth to get them back?

I could restore - I did a backup before jailbreaking but it doesn't show up in my backups folder for some strange reason... it's only showing one from two weeks back and from a month back. Why would that be?

    just try,

Plug your phone in, dont let it sync.

Right click your device on the side bar
    click restore from backup.

This worked with blackra1n not sure if it will keep your sprint JB or not though.. (It should, it should just restore data that isn't on your phone that was there when you last synced) Whats the worst that can happen though eh?

Update (May 3): I've updated the jailbreak tool. It no longer deletes photos (sorry!) and should resolve the issue with error code c0000005. (If you still get that error with the new version, try setting compatibility mode to Windows 95.)

For Win7 here is the fix I just came up with. Worked on my end.
Let me know if it works for you.

    Plug in iPhone
Click start orb and type 'Mobile Device' in search bar.
    Click View Devices and Printers
Double click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver under Unspecified
Hardware tab > Properties > Driver > Uninstall > OK
When finished, unplug phone, wait a few seconds and replug in phone.
Phone should be recognized, driver will install and all should be good again.

In regards to the photos, hopefully you saved all your stuff before installing Spirit.
Always back-up everything - all the time. You never know when its just 'gone'.

    Default Restoring Photos
I backed up my photos and videos in iTunes, before I used Spirit, but It didn't occur to me to check for missing files immediately. I've gone and made changes and a subsequent backup before I noticed. How can I restore just the photos and videos from that previous backup?

Update: This here was solved it.
