Thread: F0recast Problem?

    Default F0recast Problem?
Hi guys, I have a very strange problem that I can't find the answer on.

So, I bought my iPhone 3GS on the FIRST DAY IT CAME OUT so June 19, 2009. I have never sent it in for repair or had any problems.

The problem is, when I check in iTunes, Settings, and F0recast, it tells me that my iPhone is an MC model. I read that the MC models only started shipping in autumn, so how could this be?

I am currently jailbroken on 3.0.1 and I used redsn0w on a pc.

If someone could explain this to me, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I just whited out the serial number... I saw lots of posts with the serial number whited out so I did it too

And it left the jailbreak slot blank when u used f0recast? Contact iH8sn0w on Twitter, he's usually good about responding.

mc model numbers only apply to IPT2g...u can jailbreak no problems as long as you aren't on 3.1.3

Ahhhhh dont worry about it. Just jailbreak it and use a custom 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 firmware and u will be good to go for a long time without the firmware hassels. =-)

Yeah mine is an MC model too, also shipped on release date.

    O Okay thanks

BTW the "Jailbreakable?:" tab on mine is blank, but its OS 3.0.1

    That's probably why?

Wait in this jailbreak guide by redmondpie ( Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 with Sn0wbreeze | Redmond Pie )... in the first paragraph it says "One thing which is to be noted here is that it will work with iPhone 3GS only if it has the older bootrom (non-MC model)."

That's a typo right? They ment iPod right?

urgh o well yah i get your point i just wanted to confirm that REDMOND PIE made a typo but i get the point

btw i tweeted iH8tsn0w and he said he forgot to add 3.0.1 on f0recast which is why the "Jailbreakable?:" tab is blank

    f0recast is a crappy program.

Just wanted to throw that in there.

Also, most guides on sn0wbreeze are poorly written and will leave a lot of users confused. To confirm, although j3st3r3 really has said it enough times already, MB/MC model doesn't matter even the slightest when it comes to 3GS phones.
