    Default Factory unlocked Iphones
How can you tell the difference between Factory unlocked iphones or locked iphones which have been unlocked...

Anyway other than asking who I bought it from?? <_<

edit: nvm i misread the question.

a factory unlocked iphone will not have third party software on it.
If the iphone is jailbroken and uses something like "BlackSn0w" to activate the sim, then it was purchased as a regular device and modified to accept other sims.

a factory unlocked device will not need extra modifications to allow a different sim card to be used.

Please separate the ideas in your post, I am having trouble making sense out of what your asking.

From what I can tell, It seems you have a factory unlocked device. Although if you have a older bootrom then I might be mistaken. I cant help without more information.

Is there third party software installed on the device? Do you see anything called "Cydia" or "BlackRa1n"? If so you have a jailbroken device.

if it is unlocked with baseband 05.12.01 then it is definitely a factory unlock...as of now there is no 3rd party unlock available for that baseband

What do you mean by third party softwares?
I do not have Cydia or anything it is not jailbroken only unlocked.

    Line: MTN
    Model: MC Model
    Version 3.1.3
    Modem Firmware: 05.12.01

EDIT: If it is factory unlocked does that mean when I jailbreak I dont need to use blacksn0w and such to unlock?

You are wrong. Even factory unlocked iPhone need to be activated with iTunes. Doesn't matter the sim card in the phone but it needs iTunes.

Dang... I got mixed up with baseband and bootrom

How do I know my bootrom?

Is the Modem Firmware: 05.12.01 the baseband or bootrom?
