Default Just got my new 3Gs and have a question about MC Version
I sent my phone off (using my insurance) and I had the 3G 8gb and they sent me a new 3Gs 16gb MC model and I had a question related to jailbreaking.
What is the MC model and why is it so hard to jailbreak it? This isn't a "where is the jailbreak?" or "why is no-one jailbreaking it?" it is just a general question to find out why an MC model is so different

Well it can be jailbroke if its on 3.1.2 but it will be tethered. If its on 3.1.3 it cannot be jailbroken.. Yet

because 3.1.3 can't be jailbroken. MC model means nothing for iPhones, only iPods.

the 3gs requires firmware signing and since apple is only signing 3.1.3 and it's a new phone then he can not downgrade the firmware

No. New bootrom phones can't use custom firmwares at all. And no 3GS, regardless of bootrom, can restore to a custom firmware when already on an unjailbroken 3.1.3 firmware.

So to answer my question, the MC doesn't mean anything and because of the new signing by apple on 3Gs iphones it means all 3Gs iphones are blocked from jailbreaking on 3.1.3.

    Am I correct?
