Default How to upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.1.2
Sorry for the newbie question guys, but I'd like to know how to upgrade my iPhone 3G 3.0.1 (firmware version 04.26.08) to 3.1.2. Itunes is prompting me to update to 3.1.3 but it looks like that is more difficult to jailbreak/unlock(?)

I usually do my own research for this kind of thing but there's so much conflicting info I don't want to risk losing my jailbreak/unlock.

    I'd really appreciate any advice!

Use pwnagetool to make a custom firmware with a version of your choice. Then restore to that.

By using a CFW, you preserve your baseband at 04.26.08 which is unlockable by the bug-free ultrasn0w.
