Question 3gs 3.1.3 -can be jailbroken? Benefits?
I am chasing my tail searching online. Some places say 3.1.3 can be jailbroken and some places say it can't.

I'm not even entirely sure what the benefits of jailbreaking are? I use a refurbed 3gs on the at& t network so I don't need it unlocked or anything. Does jailbreaking give you extra features besides themes and backgrounds?

There are many customizations, and applications that are outside of Apple's sandbox on various repo's as well. Once you jailbreak, and get into everything you can do, you will never go back! ;-)

Jailbreak will give you full control over your device which Apple doesnt want you to have. And also you can have more and more apps as mentioned by BlueFox.

For Your query about jailbreaking, we need info about your bootrom.

if your phone came with 3.1.3 wen u bought it then at this time there is no jailbreak available for your phone...if it is still on 3.1.2 then you are in luck

Just tell us your iPhone Serial No, first 5 digits are sufficient.

Also when you received your iPhone, was it on 3.1.3??
