Default My 3GS already has an untethered jailbreak...?
    Hi guys.

I just saw the news about GeoHot working on an untethered jailbreak for the 3GS. I did some further research, and it appears that, at this time, there is no working untethered jailbreak for the 3GS. This doesn't seem to make sense to me, because I have a 3GS on 3.1.2 right now that is jailbroken, unlocked, and does not need to be tethered every time I reboot. I believe I used blackra1n to jailbreak. Am I just misunderstanding something here? Any comments would be appreciated.

This is the first proof of a working untethered jb for IPT 3g and Iphone 3GS with new bootrom. And possibly the iPad.

3GS phones come with both the old and the new bootrom. That's why some are untethered and others are tethered. You can reboot your 3GS because it has the old bootrom.
