Default Restoring to factory settings wise idea?
i want to restore the 3g to factory settings bc some files may

be corrupted. if i restore through the current iTunes will it

change my firmware to 3.1.3? this is what i see on the last

    sellection option.

Are you sure you want to restore the iPhone ..... to

its factory settings? All of your miedia and other data will be

erased. and the newest version of the iPhone software will be

    installed.

if firmware change is appart of the process is there a way around that process.

with the 3g you can restore to any firmware version u wish...instead of updating use the shift+restore (pc) or option+restore (mac) and restore to whichever firmware you chose...if you need to unlock then your best bet is to create a custom ipsw and use that as it will leave your baseband intact

almost forgot to mention that you must first download the firmware you want to use...they are available in the download section of these forums
