    Default I need some help!!!
My iPhone started acting up today. It was freezing on the slide to unlock screen so I tried the hard reset, and it worked once. I tried it again, and now it is stuck on the apple logo. I was just going to wipe it via itunes, but itunes won't recognize it. It is jailbroken, I'm not sure with what, I bought it jailbroken. I don't mind loosing all my contacts and rejailbreaking it. I just need it fixed! Any help is greatly appreciated!

ok what u have to do is put it in dfu mode
How To: Enter DFU Restore Mode - ModMyi - Wiki

then download this 3.1.2 firmware and save to desktop

Apple, iPhone & iPad Forums, Mods, Guides, News, Themes, Downloads, and more! | ModMyi.com - Downloads - iPhone 3G 3.1.2

then in itunes hold shift on your keyboard as you press restore. a window will pop up. navigate your way to the desktop and click on the firmware you downlaoded.
when its done go to blackweather and download blackra1n.
run it and then install cydia for jailbreak and if needed blacksn0w for unlock

I tried to put it in DFU mode earlier, but it didn't work. Is DFU how iTunes recognizes the iPhone? Did I do something wrong with DFU mode, or could it possibly not go into it?

Also, should I DL all the stuff beforehand, or wait until it's in the process.

It worked! Thanks so much! Now for the problem of jailbreaking... What caused the initial problem? And is there any way to circumvent this problem?

Ok, I hate to be such a pain in the *** and ask so many questions, but I've had this thing all of 3 months and know absolutely nothing about them pretty much. Can you kinda walk me through jailbreaking it? What all I need to do, how I need to do it and what needs to be installed?

Well to get it "jailbroken" u just need to have rock or cydia on it. That's like the AppStore of jailbreak. So just run blackra1n. Ull get a blackra1n app on homescreen. Open it ad install cydia. Then your done. Now ur device can do

    themeing
    backgrounding app
    multitasking
    vertical scrolling
    unlimited icons on dock
    put apps into categries

    just to name a few
