    Question SSH into iPhone using USB
    Dear Friends,

    Before I post the question here, I did research the questions and answers in the forum and didn't able to move further.

    Kindly let me know, what tools do I need to install on my computer for SSH connection via USB, and the steps to connect iphone via SSH???

    Also, kindly let me know the links to download the software (this has been a major issue for me).

    My iPhone is running on 3.1.2 and did jailbreak using blackra1n.

    Thank you,
    Nikee

    SSH and USB interfaces are completely different protocols. SSH is done wirelessly with a program like WinSCP. This allows you to run terminal commands, change directory permissions and is a secure interface. USB connection is done thru a program such as iphonebrowser and is limited to file transfers.

    Dear Friend,

    I did download the OPENSSH onto iPhone and iPhone Tunnel Suite 2.7 installed on my laptop.

    I am not able to establish the iPhone Tunnel program and the executable is throwing the following exception...

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

    Did you not pay any attn to what I wrote? Installing OpenSSH has absolutely NOTHING to do with a USB interface. Try iPhonebrower.

    I get the last.ini error on start as well, but I just close it out and the program works. You can create an empty notepad document named lastversion.ini and stick it in the /data folder. It will bypass the error for a while, but come back eventually.

    Also make sure your Microsoft.net/frameworks is up to date. Have you tried installing it on your C drive instead if your D drive?

    ^Iphone Tunnel Suite is better than Iphonebrowser

    If you are looking to use iphonebowser then this post should help

    What's going on is that Winterboard didn't install correctly, so there's a bad library being loaded which causes the iPhone to not finish the boot cycle. There is a fix for it here: HowTo: Edit .plist Files on Windows And Fix iPhone Stuck At Boot Logo | FSMdotCOM

    However, the above fix will not work unless you first enable your iPhone to work with the iPhoneBrowser. Blackra1n doesn't enable the proper service to be able to use iPhoneBrowser, so you have to do it manually. This is described on the iPhoneBrowser's homepage: iphonebrowser - Project Hosting on Google Code

    So, to summarize - if you use Blackra1n, you should make sure you iPhoneBrowser is working before you install anything. Once it is working, if you get to the point where your phone is stuck at the Apple logo, you can use iPhoneBrowser to recover.
