Thread: Does a reset to bypass passcode remove jailbroken and unlocked state?

Question Does a reset to bypass passcode remove jailbroken and unlocked state?
I just purchased a 2G 8gb iPhone from Craigslist and it worked fine at first. Once I turned it off and back on for the first time, it wants a passcode. The problem is that the phone is already unlocked and jailbroken, so if I do a hard reset won't that remove both of those?

Is there a way to reset or bypass the passcode and still retain the unlocked and jailbroken state?

And if the phone was stolen and then sold to me, why did it work the first day and then not after I powered it off & back on?

    I appreciate your help.

    :-)

    Brandi

p.s. the a**hole who sold it to me is unreachable of course, won't return calls or emails.

ummm look around the forums but i believe there is no way to get into the phone with out knowing the password you might need to restore and then start up all over agin. and sounds like that guy that sold it to you stoled it.lol
