Default Upgrading from 1.1.4 to 3.0
    Morning all,
I have read much on this forum but am still in the dark to some extent.
I have dl redsnow 0.8 and version 3.0 firmware.

I have pointed redsnow to the current -restore directory where the ISPW file resides. Redsnow does not recognize the file. Is this because it does not like 1.1.4?

Can someone please tell me or point me to where i can follw a definitive process. I purchased this phone already unlocked from the US a year or so ago and it has worked great.

    Thx for any help

what do you mean it does not like 1.1.4?

You have to be running 3.0, and you have to point redsn0w at the 3.0 ipsw...

1.1.4 should have nothing to do with anything

Edit: I reread and reread your post again, you are on the right track, all you have to do is restore your phone upto 3.0, DO NOT just hit restore, as it will automatically restore you to 3.1.

then point redsn0w to 3.0 ipsw, follow the directions, and you are jailbroken.

if you get the "waiting for reboot" for over a minutes, just quickly unplug the cable from the phone for half a second, then plug it back it, the phone should restart and the jailbreak will continue.
